Junior Interior Designer
New York, NY
A leading design studio in New York is looking for a Junior Interior Designer with 2–4 years of workplace and corporate interiors experience to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong designer who enjoys working across both the creative and technical sides of a project. You will support projects from early planning and test fits through design development, documentation, FF&E and construction, working closely with senior designers and clients throughout the process.
The Role
- Support the design team throughout all stages of a project, from initial planning through construction
- Assist with test fits, schematic design, space planning and programme analysis
- Develop 3D design concepts, including lighting and FF&E
- Assist with the selection, presentation and specification of furniture, finishes and accessories
- Prepare furniture bid documentation and review dealer specifications
- Support the development of construction documentation and coordinate with the wider project team
- Work directly with clients throughout the design process
- Attend project sites during construction and assist with site coordination
- Contribute to presentations, visualisations and design documentation
What They Are Looking For
- 2–4 years of professional experience within corporate, commercial or workplace interiors
- Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience producing high quality 3D visualisations, ideally using Enscape and AI visualisation tools
- Understanding of workplace furniture, systems and ancillary furniture
- Good knowledge of schematic design, design development and construction documentation
- Strong design sensibility with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast paced environment
