Senior Design Manager
On behalf of a leading international architectural practice with offices across Europe, we are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join their team, based in either Dublin or Cork.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced design and construction professional to take on a senior leadership role within a well-established, internationally recognised practice. Our client works across a broad range of sectors, delivering medium to large-scale, complex construction projects for a diverse client base, and this role sits right at the heart of that delivery.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience leading design teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously, ideally gained across several sectors of architectural practice, along with a solid understanding of the construction process and the architect's role throughout a project's lifecycle.
Day to day, the role involves leading and managing the delivery of multiple projects and project teams, while acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout each stage of their project. You'll shape and deliver approved design solutions, communicate these across project teams, and drive consulting partners towards successful outcomes. There's also a strategic element, contributing to delivery strategy at client and project level, managing resourcing, and reporting on project status to senior management. A strong command of architectural design, and the ability to translate concepts into detailed, budget-conscious solutions, is key, as is confidence administering construction contracts and leading design teams and contractor instructions. Regular site visits will also form part of the role.
Our client is looking for someone with at least 10 years' experience within the Irish construction sector, along with proven contract administration experience across standard and amended forms of contract. Experience with project programming, resource planning, and project management methodologies would be an advantage, as would a professional qualification (or equivalent experience) in architecture, architectural technology, or engineering. Strong design communication and presentation skills are important, along with up-to-date knowledge of Irish Building and Planning Regulations. Experience within high-tech, process-driven, or industrial building sectors would be beneficial, and while Revit skills are not essential, they would be welcomed.
In return, you'll join a genuinely people-focused organisation offering a highly competitive package, including generous annual leave with service-related increments, an excellent pension, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, and overseas travel opportunities. Bonus schemes + flexi/hybrid working.
