Why did I setup Rhythm Careers?
Simply put, I set out to build something better than our competition.
I believe businesses have a responsibility to give back and make a positive difference – in society, as employers, and in how they impact the environment. I wanted to create a company focused on action, not words. Judge us by what we actually do.
We’ve built a culture rooted in trust, empowerment and investment in our people. This allows us to attract high-quality talent and experienced professionals from the Architecture and Interior Design sectors, whose focus is on delivering a high-quality service rather than being driven purely by targets or profit.
While many businesses say their people are their greatest asset, few truly act on it. In my twenty years in architectural recruitment, I’ve seen how often that principle is overlooked. We do things differently. Our team is not measured on arbitrary activity targets, because in my experience this undermines quality and client experience. Instead, our people are trusted to focus on what matters most: building strong relationships and delivering exceptional outcomes for both candidates and clients, and something we are already receiving strong recognition for.
Beyond business, we are committed to creating meaningful social impact. Through our partnership with Blueprint for All, we are helping to open up opportunities for the next generation of talent from under-represented communities, while also addressing long-term skills gaps in the sector.
We actively support women in the industry through mentoring with the Women in Architecture network and our sponsorship of Project W. Internally, this commitment is reflected in our policies; including a market-leading maternity package, flexible working, and unlimited leave, all designed to create a genuinely family-first culture.
We are also committed to reducing our environmental impact, operating a fully remote model and offsetting our carbon footprint through our partnership with Carma and its tree-planting initiatives.
Above all, I wanted to build a business where clients and candidates know they are working with a company grounded in strong ethics, genuine purpose, and a commitment to meaningful change.
What motivates me??
As a father of three, creating a positive legacy and demonstrating what can be achieved through hard work and ambition is a key driver for me. Whether through building a successful business, being a supportive role model to my children, or continually pushing myself to improve in every aspect of life, their support and long-term benefit remain central to everything I do.
Outside of work, I increasingly turn to running as a way to switch off and reflect. I have just completed my fourth marathon with a personal best time achieved at the 2026 Marathon de Paris, and a fifth marathon lined up later this year, where I aim to break 3 hours 30 minutes!
Professionally, my ambition is to build Rhythm Careers into a leading voice within the Architecture and Design industry across the UK, Europe, and the US – a goal we are firmly on track to achieve.
Having worked in architectural recruitment for nearly 20 years, it has long been clear to me that the industry faces ongoing challenges around diversity and inclusion. I have always been inspired by the story of Stephen Lawrence and his unfulfilled ambition to become an architect, which is why supporting the exceptional work of Blueprint for All and their Building Futures programme has been so important to me in driving meaningful, long-term change.
My relationship with Blueprint for All began through fundraising initiatives, which quickly became a defining part of our journey. Over the years, this has included leading teams to complete the UK Three Peaks Challenge, undertaking a 75-mile, 25-hour walk to mark the 25th anniversary of Stephen Lawrence’s death, and completing three fundraising marathons, twice in London and most recently in Paris.
I have also been proud to help secure industry recognition for this work, including a Third Sector Business Charity Award for Most Impactful Partnership alongside Blueprint for All, as well as the REC Diversity Champion Award. However, this is only the beginning. Our commitment to improving equity within the sector continues to grow, particularly through our BeMoreInclusive partnership, which will further strengthen our work with Blueprint for All.
Looking ahead, I am proud that our business will achieve B Corp certification in 2026, just three years after incorporation, and I am excited about what more we can achieve from here.
